You’re pregnant and you want to schedule a maternity session. When should you call me?
Maternity shoots are usually scheduled between 32-36 weeks. Call or email me to set up your session as soon as you decide.

When is the best time to book your newborn session?

When you are pregnant! I will put your due date on my schedule and anticipate your little ones arrival right along with you. That way I have an expectation of when your baby is due and can schedule accordingly around your due date. Of course, if you have waited to call me, that fine too! Just try to call me right before or after you have the baby so I can permanently schedule you accordingly. I never turn a newborn down! Newborns are my passion.

Newborns are best photographed within the first two weeks of life. I prefer to photograph them within the first 7-12 days because after that time newborns tend to lose their behavior from the womb and they are harder to pose and get to sleep. After two weeks, babies develop baby acne and have longer awake periods.

What if I forgot to schedule in advance?
If you’ve already had your baby, please call me as soon as possible. There are times when my schedule will allow for last minute bookings.

How can I prepare for my newborn session?
Twenty-four to forty-eight hours before your session, I will send very detailed instructions on getting the most from your session (feeding, sleep, etc).

Do I need to bring props or do you have them?
If you have something you would like to be incorporated into the session, bring them. I will gladly try to work them in. I have an extensive prop stash that I am constantly adding to and expanding.

What should I bring to my family session?
◾Snacks for young children
◾Your child's lovey or favorite stuffed animals/toys (go with it... it is something you will want to remember later!)
◾If yours is an outdoor session, please use bug spray.  We may go into fields and areas that have ticks and mosquitos.

What can I do to ensure my family session goes well?

◾The most important thing you can do is relax.  Children will be stressed if you are stressed (even newborns can sense stress).  We will have plenty of time to get great photos.  Think of this as two hours you get to spend having fun family time.
◾Be prepared to act silly.  I love it when parents bring out their inner silly to help their children smile and laugh. Don't be surprised to find that I am a total goober, too.
◾Avoid the "cheese" word.  Saying "cheese" makes an unnatural smile.  I want to capture smiles that come from their core and radiate into their eyes.  We will get them.
◾Let me know what your children's favorite things are - toys, tv shows, hobbies, etc.  I love to talk about these things with them during the session.
◾Remember that our goal is not to capture perfection, but instead, a perfect representation of who your children are at this point in time.  I want your photos to help you tell a story to your children years from now.

If I am sick, can I reschedule my appointment?
Absolutely! I understand that things can come up. Please call me as soon as you know so we can reschedule.

When will I see my images?
Within two weeks your images will be ready for you to view.

Do you sell digital files?

Yes! Five digital files are included with every session, and I have digital and print packages for additional purchase. Please contact me for print packages.

When do I receive my digital images?
Five digital images are icluded in your package and can be downloaded immediately after selecting the images.

Can you help me choose the photos to order?
Yes, absolutely!  In fact, I much prefer to meet with you again after your session to help you go through the photos and narrow down to the ones you want.  We can design cards or an album together, and I can answer all of your questions about the products I offer.
